In this game, players take on the role of several survivors in a world ravaged by monsters.  These monsters represent a terrifying and formidable enemy that players must confront.  In a truly post-apocalyptic way, however, other humans pose major problems as well. <\/p>\n<p>At the end of the day, however, The Last of Us Part II isn&#8217;t a game that everyone will like.  It&#8217;s going to be very divisive and inspiring, but it&#8217;s definitely worth talking about anyway.  It may be difficult to decide if this story is for a certain person.  Therefore, it is worth doing a little research before jumping into this gorgeous game. The Last of Us was an emotionally draining and deeply saddened story in 2013. It&#8217;s only natural that the sequel kept this tone in 2020. However, 2020 may be the absolute worst year for a dark game like this to be released. . <\/p>\n<p>That shouldn&#8217;t take away from the story presented here, though.  The game is driven by a hard-to-digest narrative that is worth experiencing either way.  Things are not going to go the way you want them to. In her own adventure, she travels to the dangerous city of Seattle in search of a group who have wronged her in ways that have changed her life.  Accompanied by her partner Dina her, Ellie must scour the city while she searches for these people.  However, the couple are also trapped in a fierce war between a militarist organization and an evil cult.<\/p>\n<p>The story also puts players in control of a newcomer to the series: Abby.  The story of this character runs along Ellie&#8217;s journey.  The tale explores Seattle&#8217;s relationships and dangers, as well as Abby&#8217;s personal guilt for her past actions and her desire for redemption.<\/p><div id=\"forum-1268019834\" class=\"forum-content-3 forum-entity-placement\">\t\t<div class=\"ad-wrapper\" style=\"width:100%;min-height:250px;text-align:center\">\r\n\t\t\t<!-- In Article Blog -->\r\n\t\t\t<ins class=\"adsbygoogle\"\r\n\t\t\t\t style=\"display:block; text-align:center;\"\r\n\t\t\t\t data-ad-layout=\"in-article\"\r\n\t\t\t\t data-ad-format=\"fluid\"\r\n\t\t\t\t data-ad-client=\"ca-pub-3476569516614521\"\r\n\t\t\t\t data-ad-slot=\"9829044906\"><\/ins>\r\n\t\t\t<script>\r\n\t\t\t\t (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({});\r\n\t\t\t<\/script>\r\n\t\t<\/div><\/div>\n<p>Ultimately, it&#8217;s really about the player&#8217;s preferences over what they like in a storyline.  This definitely isn&#8217;t a game for everyone, and that&#8217;s perfectly fine.  If you like to see a character being pushed to the limit and growing accordingly, then it might be worth a look.  Although the depressing events featured in The Last of Us Part II may be a little too much for some people who have had a tough year in 2020. <\/p>\n<p><!--nextpage--><\/p>\n<h2>Game<\/h2>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" width=\"1024\" height=\"576\" src=\"https:\/\/forum.sbenny.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/04\/1649424574_472_Review-of-The-Last-of-Us-Part-II.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-29815\"  ><\/figure>\n<p>As soon as the player takes the controller, it is easy to see that The Last of Us Part II is great to play.  It feels like a smoother and more refined version of the original game mechanics.  However, there are some updates to the formula.  While that doesn&#8217;t make the game incredibly fresh or new, it&#8217;s progress in the end.<\/p>\n<p>Stealth and combat are both major mechanisms that the player will use throughout the game.  Of course, there are a few ways to improve the player character as the game progresses.  Fans of the former will recognize the upgrade systems, as they haven&#8217;t changed much.  The standout improvement would be the gun workbench animations. <\/p>\n<p>These animations are a lot of fun to watch and are also very satisfying.  They have no effect on the game significantly, but seeing your upgraded weapons used in combat is a nice bonus. <\/p>\n<p><center class=\"native_ad\"><\/p>\n<p>\t<!-- Composite Start --><\/p>\n<p>\t<!-- Composite End --><br \/>\n<\/center><\/p>\n<p>A slight downside to the gameplay that looks so good is the lack of a multiplayer component this time around.  The game doesn&#8217;t require it or requires it at all, but the original game&#8217;s multiplayer in this style would have been a nice gift for gamers.<\/p>\n<p><!--nextpage--><\/p>\n<h2>Long days ahead<\/h2>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" width=\"1024\" height=\"576\" src=\"https:\/\/forum.sbenny.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/04\/1649424574_491_Review-of-The-Last-of-Us-Part-II.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-29816\"  ><\/figure>\n<p>While The Last of Us Part II is an incredible game, it&#8217;s not without its flaws.  For example, the game seems to stretch a little too long.  This becomes more and more evident during long periods of play where not much happens. <\/p>\n<p>This is a travel game, just like the first one.  However, it seems like it takes forever to get from point A to point B with little precious happening in between.  The frustrating thing is that this is inconsistent.<\/p>\n<p>There are some chapters that are quite successful and have been able to keep me busy the entire time.  Then there were others who made me openly hope that the next segment of the story would finally begin.  Fortunately, those pacing issues seem to disappear by the middle, as if the game has finally found a solid foundation. <\/p>\n<h2>Fear is effective<\/h2>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" width=\"1024\" height=\"576\" src=\"https:\/\/forum.sbenny.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/04\/1649424574_43_Review-of-The-Last-of-Us-Part-II.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-29858\"  ><\/figure>\n<p>The Last of Us featured some spooky moments where players can crawl.  However, they were far from as scary as they could have been.  The Last of Us Part II solves this problem significantly. <\/p>\n<p>The Infected start out just like in the original game.  Dangerous, but not too scary for people who know how to deal with them.  As the story progresses, however, there are situations where these monsters become something to worry about.  Also, the inclusion of some new types of infected helps make them more of a minor inconvenience this time around.<\/p>\n<p><!--nextpage--><\/p>\n<h2>Incredible accessibility <\/h2>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" width=\"1024\" height=\"576\" src=\"https:\/\/forum.sbenny.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/04\/1649424575_423_Review-of-The-Last-of-Us-Part-II.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-29859\"  ><\/figure>\n<p>Ironically, the game that isn&#8217;t for everyone is also a game that can be experienced by more people than most games.  The Last of Us Part II comes complete with a variety of very useful accessibility options.  These range from options for those who are hard of hearing to those who have vision problems. <\/p>\n<p>The Last of Us Part II is accessible to a large variety of players who may not have been able to enjoy this story otherwise.  Hopefully, this is an example of what developers should strive to achieve: making games more accessible to all audiences. <\/p>\n<h2>Final verdict<\/h2>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" width=\"1024\" height=\"576\" src=\"https:\/\/forum.sbenny.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/04\/1649424575_912_Review-of-The-Last-of-Us-Part-II.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-29818\"  ><\/figure>\n<p>The Last of Us Part II is a fantastic game that is somewhat held back by the length of its story.  Pacing issues can really detract from what is a wonderful story that explores revenge and the different perspectives of the people involved within it.<\/p>\n<p>The game works very well and really adds something to the story of the original game.  Some depth has been added to the old characters, plus some cool new characters have been added to the cast.  The level of voice acting and motion capture that was used in these performances is honestly hard to beat right now.
