As Apple expands its relationship with TSMC, the new factory will begin producing Apple silicon in the United States.<\/p>\n<p>In 2021, TSMC originally announced it would invest $12 billion in a manufacturing plant.  During Tuesday&#8217;s event, TSMC announced it would increase its investment to $40 billion, which represents a second fabrication facility that will enter production of 3nm chips when it opens in 2026. The first fabrication facility to produce 4nm chips starting in 2024. President Biden says new one will create tens of thousands of &#8220;construction&#8221; and &#8220;high tech&#8221; jobs for Arizonans<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"small-blockquote\"><p>    \u201cCommercial operations will begin next year and today TSMC announced a second major investment.
