So, most of the expectations for Cars 3: Driven to Win are probably very low.  After all, this title was released specifically to cash in on Pixar&#8217;s release <em>Car 3<\/em> and as such, it most likely won&#8217;t change the game when it comes to the racing genre.  The real question is whether Avalanche Software has done enough to justify buying this game despite these problems.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/forum.sbenny.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/04\/Cars-3-Driven-To-Win-Review.jpg\" alt=\"Cars 3: Driven to Win Review |  Gammick\" class=\"wp-image-1354\"><\/figure>\n<h2>Game<\/h2>\n<p>In the center, Cars 3: Driven to Win is a kart driver who plays in a similar style to Mario Kart.  If you&#8217;ve ever played one of these games, you can grab this title and dive right into the action.  Most of the controls have been simplified so that even small children shouldn&#8217;t have any problems.  Actions such as accelerating, upgrading and firing weapons are all mapped to a button and are easy to understand.  That&#8217;s not to say there isn&#8217;t any challenge for Driven to Win, though.  A wide range of difficulty options mean you can tailor the game to the player&#8217;s abilities to make sure things don&#8217;t get too simple or difficult. There are more than 120 skill tests spread across the different modes.  They can range from completing a race to performing certain actions a set number of times.  After you&#8217;ve unlocked enough, you unlock a main event so you can take on a special opponent.  Skill Tests can practically be unlocked as you see fit.  As a result, you don&#8217;t feel frustrated by being stuck on a particular challenge for too long.  You can just do a different check whenever you want.  <\/p>\n<p><!--nextpage--><\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/forum.sbenny.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/04\/1650097783_213_Cars-3-Driven-To-Win-Review.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1355\"><\/figure>\n<h2>Presentation<\/h2>\n<p>No one will come away from Cars 3: Driven to Win feeling like it&#8217;s not an authentic recreation of a video game from the <em>Cars<\/em> series.  The environments in which each track is found have been perfectly recreated from their cinematic versions.  A quick glance is enough to recognize where you are.  Also, the same can be said of the cast of characters you will see.  A total of 20 different cars are available to race and each looks and behaves like their respective on-screen character.  <\/p><div id=\"forum-3996073070\" class=\"forum-content forum-entity-placement\">\t\t<div class=\"ad-wrapper\" style=\"width:100%;min-height:250px;text-align:center\">\r\n\t\t\t<!-- In Article Blog -->\r\n\t\t\t<ins class=\"adsbygoogle\"\r\n\t\t\t\t style=\"display:block; text-align:center;\"\r\n\t\t\t\t data-ad-layout=\"in-article\"\r\n\t\t\t\t data-ad-format=\"fluid\"\r\n\t\t\t\t data-ad-client=\"ca-pub-3476569516614521\"\r\n\t\t\t\t data-ad-slot=\"9829044906\"><\/ins>\r\n\t\t\t<script>\r\n\t\t\t\t (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({});\r\n\t\t\t<\/script>\r\n\t\t<\/div><\/div>\n<p>Conversely, the sound design is lacking, especially when heard in the context of the excellent graphics.  The soundtrack suffers from a lack of variety and the effects for the action aren&#8217;t as refined as you&#8217;d like.  It&#8217;s nothing too serious, but it&#8217;s enough to affect the overall fun.<\/p>\n<p><center class=\"native_ad\"><\/p>\n<p>\t<!-- Composite Start --><\/p>\n<p>\t<!-- Composite End --><br \/>\n<\/center><\/p>\n<p>Perhaps the main problem with sound is with voice acting.  Several actors were used in the game.  While they bear some resemblance to the actors in the film, they sound different enough to be jarring.  This is particularly problematic when the characters have limited vocabulary. Without the character models and aesthetics taken from the <em>Cars<\/em> movie, this could easily be any racing game in its own right.  While it could be argued that this is a good thing and the developers have created a solid foundation for their game, it feels like a missed opportunity.  The team could have integrated the game into the <em>Cars<\/em> intellectual correctly in a much more effective way.  <\/p>\n<p><!--nextpage--><\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/forum.sbenny.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/04\/1650097783_721_Cars-3-Driven-To-Win-Review.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1357\"><\/figure>\n<h2>Final verdict<\/h2>\n<p>Above all, Cars 3: Driven to Win is a kart driver that also offers much more than just racing.  The variety of game modes offer great value for money in terms of many reasons to keep playing.  There is a time trial option which works in a similar way to Formula 1 qualifying, where the goal is to get the best possible time on a single lap.  Likewise, there is also an acrobatic showcase where players have to perform all kinds of tricks to get the highest points.  There is also a sandbox game mode where you can just drive and do whatever you want, whether it&#8217;s performing stunts or taking out other pilots.<\/p>\n<p>That&#8217;s what really upsets the balance when it comes to summarizing Cars 3: Driven to Win.  It cannot be argued that it is a simple game that introduces nothing new.  However, he&#8217;s not actually trying to do that.
