After all, the previous rumor had been something of a fallback as the team got to grips with the Xbox One and PlayStation 4 consoles.<\/p>\n<p>The first thing to note about F1 2016: it brought back Career mode and expanded it to 10 full seasons instead of the five of the previous titles. If you&#8217;ve played one of the Formula 1 versions of Codemaster, you will be very familiar with the evolution of Career mode.  If you perform well in competitions and exceed your team&#8217;s expectations, your ranking will increase, while conversely it will decrease in the event of a crash or lower performance.<\/p>\n<p>There are also a number of things to do outside of competitions.  This includes a full series of free practice sessions where you can fine-tune your setup for each particular race.  You can modify many characteristics to suit your driving style and individual track. These can be used to improve the car&#8217;s performance across four main areas.  Completing tasks such as track acclimatization or fuel economy racing will reward points, as will achieving certain goals such as setting a particular lap time.  This is a clear idea and it really invests you in the research and development of your car, allowing you to choose which direction to go with improvements so that it better suits your strengths.  Combined together, these elements of Career Mode give it real depth and allow you to experience, at least in part, what a real Formula 1 driver could be like.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" width=\"1024\" height=\"576\" src=\"https:\/\/forum.sbenny.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/04\/1650162602_950_F1-2016-review.jpg\" alt=\"F1 2016 Review |  Gammick\" class=\"wp-image-794\"  ><\/figure>\n<h2>Game<\/h2>\n<p>From a gameplay standpoint, F1 2016 is more of an evolution than a revolution.  One notable change is that you now have more control over the starting procedure at the start of the race.  Now you need to hold the clutch and increase the revs before letting go at the right time for a perfect start.  To be honest, it&#8217;s a tough thing to master, but that adds some danger to racing and allows you to really earn a few spots if you nail it.  Handling, tire wear and AI driver behavior are roughly the same as its predecessors. Experienced drivers may want to turn off all driving aids and go full weeks, which include three free practice sessions, qualifying and a 90-minute race.  Others may want a little more flexibility when it comes to enforcing the rules.  The options available give you the ability to make those decisions.  Perhaps the best thing about this is that it allows you to slowly become a better driver by turning off things like traction control and ABS braking as you become more confident in your abilities.  However, you must never take a huge step that would leave you uncomfortable.<\/p>\n<p><!--nextpage--><\/p>\n<h2>Audio and images<\/h2>\n<p>Graphically, F1 2016 is a step forward compared to the previous year&#8217;s episode.  Each track is replicated in great detail, as are the individual Formula 1 cars. The images really come to life during the rainy sessions when the asphalt is soaked, creating extraordinary images.<\/p>\n<p>The same goes for audio.  Cars sound fantastic, especially if you have a surround sound system or good headphones that can really show the deep rumbling of the engines or the screeching of the tires. <\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/forum.sbenny.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/04\/1650162602_800_F1-2016-review.jpg\" alt=\"F1 2016 Review |  Gammick\" class=\"wp-image-1943\"><\/figure>\n<h2>Multiplayer<\/h2>\n<p>F1 2016 also has some great multiplayer options.  For those who simply want to jump into a race against others, there are matchmaking options ranging from completing just three laps up to 25% of a full Grand Prix.  Those who want a real challenge against their friends can opt for the multiplayer league, which allows you to tackle an entire season in much the same way as in Career mode. <\/p>\n<h2>Final verdict<\/h2>\n<p>F1 2016 is undoubtedly a huge improvement over F1 2015, bringing a broader career mode and extra features to next generation consoles.  It&#8217;s such an accurate depiction of real-life Formula 1 that it starts to blur the line between video game and simulator, yet still manages to keep a lot of fun.
