Treyarch is facing backlash for a Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War update that changes the way the challenge system works. The update is detailed in the April 29 patch notes.<\/p>\n

Multiplayer Challenges, including Daily and Seasonal Challenges, will now track progress even if a player leaves a match. This effectively allows a user to leave a match immediately after completing a challenge without losing progress.<\/p>\n

Treyarch Community Manager Josh Torress<\/a> confirmed the change on Twitter, which came as part of an update that fixed a number of bugs and stability issues.<\/p>\n

However, the change has angered players who believe more people will not quit matches, leaving teams outnumbered. This could significantly impact match balance, and some fans have expressed concern that this will ruin the multiplayer experience. <\/p>\n

The game’s official subreddit is filled with complaints from users, and many have taken to social media to express their frustration with the change.<\/p>\n
