Loser Digital chat station<\/i> writes that the Honor Magic5 series is codenamed “Piaget” and points to this device, PGT-AN00, which has just been listed in China’s MIIT. This means that Honor’s new flagship series is getting close to official status, but it’s not quite there yet.<\/p>\n

We already have a rough idea of \u200b\u200bwhat the phone will look like thanks to the leaks. Below is a speculative rendering. The Magic5 models will retain the prominent circular camera island, although the camera layout is different from the Magic4 series.<\/p>\n

You can see it best in this image, what appears to be a tray of panels that will cover the camera island. Note the 100x zoom label, which refers to digital zoom, of course, and probably means 10x optical zoom.<\/p>\n

Based on unofficial information, the Magic5 series will not follow the Honor 80 Pro in its quest for high megapixel counts. DCS extension<\/i> writes that the Honor Magic5 Pro and Ultimate will have four 50MP cameras (although some modules may have 64MP sensors instead).<\/p>\n

Of course, the images above only show a triple camera setup, so this should be the vanilla Magic5. For comparison, its predecessor (the Magic4) had an 8MP 5x scope, while the Pro and Ultimate opted for 3.5x lenses and higher resolution 64MP sensors for their telephoto lenses.<\/p>\n

All three models \u2013 the Honor Magic5, Magic5 Pro and Magic5 Ultimate \u2013 are expected to feature Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipsets. There will also be a fourth model, a Magic5 Lite, which will use a slightly overclocked Snapdragon 695.<\/p>\n

We don’t have a confirmed date for the Magic5 series to debut, but some posters on Weibo suggest February 27th.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
