This is an 8% increase over 2021;  however, operating profit was KRW 43.38 trillion, which is 15% less than a year earlier.<\/p>\n<p>The fourth quarter was disappointing for the Korean company, which reported declining sales across virtually all divisions due to weak demand caused by the slowdown in the global economy.<\/p><div id=\"forum-2490959768\" class=\"forum-content-2 forum-entity-placement\">\t\t<div class=\"ad-wrapper\" style=\"width:100%;min-height:250px;text-align:center\">\r\n\t\t\t<!-- In Article Blog -->\r\n\t\t\t<ins class=\"adsbygoogle\"\r\n\t\t\t\t style=\"display:block; text-align:center;\"\r\n\t\t\t\t data-ad-layout=\"in-article\"\r\n\t\t\t\t data-ad-format=\"fluid\"\r\n\t\t\t\t data-ad-client=\"ca-pub-3476569516614521\"\r\n\t\t\t\t data-ad-slot=\"9829044906\"><\/ins>\r\n\t\t\t<script>\r\n\t\t\t\t (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({});\r\n\t\t\t<\/script>\r\n\t\t<\/div><\/div>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"inline-image\" width=\"1200\" height=\"663\" src=\"https:\/\/forum.sbenny.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/01\/Samsung-reports-record-revenue-in-2022-but-declining-profits.jpg\" alt=\"Samsung posts another record revenue in 2022 despite weak smartphone sales\"><\/p>\n<p>The Mobile Experience (MX) division reported a 9% year-over-year decline in revenue in the fourth quarter, but had 10% higher year-over-year sales for the full year.  However, profits were down across the board, lower both sequentially and year-over-year for the latest quarter and lower for full years.  Samsung confirms that the mass market has contracted strongly due to &#8220;inflation and geopolitical instability&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p>While demand for Galaxy smartphones was unexpectedly weak in the holiday quarter, flagships remained strong relative to market projections.  Samsung expects the downward trend to continue in Q1 2023, but that will ultimately change after the launch of the Galaxy S23 series.
