The device lasted almost three days when used moderately, and the on-the-go performance was excellent.  When we tested the usage separately, the runtimes were closer to average.<br \/>The device showed good results when streaming video on 4G and during idle times.  However, battery life when making calls or listening to music was only average compared to the very good results tested in the factory default mode.<\/p>\n<p>Charging the battery to full capacity took 1 hour and 34 minutes, slightly longer than average.  A 5-minute quick charge provided 4.5 hours of battery life, just 10 minutes more than the average in our database. The residual consumption of the charger was also average.  Discharge currents were low during our typical use case and when streaming video on 4G, meaning the device is well-optimized for these use cases.  However, the discharge currents when playing games or watching videos in Wi-Fi or airplane mode were higher than average.<\/p>\n<p>Compared to devices in the same price range ($200 &#8211; $399), the Oppo A78 5G ranked above average in our database.
