We thought the Motorola Edge 40 would be announced alongside the Edge 40 Pro, but that has not been the case. We’ve already seen the detailed specs for the phone (unofficially), which unlike the Pro is brand new hardware (the Pro is based on the Moto X40).<\/p>\n

And, most importantly, the price was also leaked, 600 euros. This is just a leak, of course, but the rumors were correct that the Pro model will cost \u20ac900 \u2013 that \u20ac300 gap between them can have a big impact on each phone’s desirability.<\/p>\n

Here are some new images of the Moto Edge 40, starting with “Viva Magenta” (a recently used shade for the Edge 30 Fusion). Viva Magenta has been named Pantone Color of the Year 2023, hence the small Pantone badge on the back.<\/p>\n

Here are some additional colorways, all shared by Roland Quandt. Note that all but the blue one have a faux leather texture. These colors should be known as Nebula Green, Lunar Blue and Eclipse Black.<\/p>\n

As a quick refresher, the vanilla Motorola Edge 40 is expected to be powered by the Dimension 8020, with 8GB of RAM and 128\/256GB of storage, it is expected to have a 6.55-inch FHD+ OLED display (20:9, 144Hz ), a main display of 50 MP camera (1.0 \u00b5m pixels, f\/1.4 aperture, OIS), a 13 MP ultra-wide angle module (120\u00b0) and a 2 MP macro camera, as well as a front camera 32MP (0.7\u00b5m, f\/2.4).<\/p>\n

The battery will have a capacity of 4,400mAh and support 68W TurboPower wired charging and 15W wireless charging. Both the faux leather and acrylic versions will have an IP68 dust and water resistance rating. One thing we still don’t know is when Motorola will make this model official<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
