Once everything is understood, we move on to compensation which, often, is not enough to repair the car involved due to an amount not up to the situation.<\/p>\n<p>This scenario, however, is destined to change thanks to <strong>a sentence of the Court of Cassation appearing in an ordinance<\/strong> of 20 April 2023. Specifically, the Court established how the <strong>insurance companies have a duty to fully cover the damage caused by the vehicle<\/strong>.  This is valid both if the car is dated and if the cost of the repair is higher than the value of the vehicle.<\/p>\n<p>Generally, <strong>the answer that is provided to motorists<\/strong> for damages of a certain gravity is to <strong>uneconomic damage<\/strong>.  In this case, it is granted <strong>a maximum refund equal to the value that the second-hand market gives to the vehicle in question<\/strong>. In fact, before many preferred to scrap their car after a road accident but, now, things will be different as a full refund will proceed to a safe and adequate repair.
