Meta has promised to launch Threads, its response to Twitter, on July 6. Today, social media has become surprisingly active and now everyone can view content. However, the full features of the new platform are limited to some markets, including the US and UK, because they have “weaker privacy laws.”<\/p>\n

Users in regions like the European Union won’t get Thread’s full set of features “at this point,” a spokesperson for the Irish Data Protection Commission (DPC) said Independent. e.g<\/i>.<\/p>\n

The first message on Threads was posted by Mark Zuckerberg, CEO of Meta and founder of Facebook. Its username is the same as Instagram’s, but instead of instagram.com, the URL says threads.net. Users who attempt to like, comment or reply will receive a message saying:<\/p>\n

Threads has not yet been implemented in your region.
Until then, you can continue to view the content.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

The Irish regulator has been in contact with Meta and told reporters that Threads is designed to import data from Instagram, including behavioral and advertising information. However, the DPC isn’t actively blocking the platform – it’s Meta that has yet to prepare the service for a European launch that complies with EU GDPR privacy rules.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
