Samsung released its first phone with support for 45W wired charging in 2019 (Galaxy Note10+) and it hasn’t moved an inch further. Indeed, 45W is still quite rare in the Samsung range. Things may finally start to change with the arrival of stacked batteries, which is the technology borrowed from electric vehicles.<\/p>\n
Second @RGCloudS<\/i>, the stacked battery will be present in the Galaxy S24 Ultra and possibly the S24+. It depends on the supply chain: Samsung is currently only carrying out tests with batteries produced in a Chinese plant as the Cheonan plant is still waiting for the production equipment to arrive.<\/p>\n
One benefit of stacked batteries is faster charging \u2013 the S24 Ultra will hit 65W (compared to 45W for the 2023 model). Both the S24 Ultra and S24+ batteries will reportedly have a capacity of 5,000mAh, but the Ultra will have additional cooling, allowing it to achieve the fastest charge rate.<\/p>\n There may not be enough production capacity to even upgrade the tiny Galaxy S24, which could be stuck at 25W for another year. Once the stacked battery technology proves itself (and supply constraints are lifted), however, it could also be used in future Galaxy Z Flip6 and Z Fold6.
