The results are on par with the previously posted guidance and show yet another gradual decline compared to the values from a year ago.<\/p>\n<p>Revenues for the April, May and June months totaled KRW 60.01 trillion ($46.89 billion) which is a 22% decrease compared to Q2 2022. Operating profit for Q2 2023 was KRW 0.67 trillion ($523.52 million) which is a 95% drop from last year\u2019s KRW 14.12 trillion.<\/p><div id=\"forum-3563185249\" class=\"forum-content-2 forum-entity-placement\">\t\t<div class=\"ad-wrapper\" style=\"width:100%;min-height:250px;text-align:center\">\r\n\t\t\t<!-- In Article Blog -->\r\n\t\t\t<ins class=\"adsbygoogle\"\r\n\t\t\t\t style=\"display:block; text-align:center;\"\r\n\t\t\t\t data-ad-layout=\"in-article\"\r\n\t\t\t\t data-ad-format=\"fluid\"\r\n\t\t\t\t data-ad-client=\"ca-pub-3476569516614521\"\r\n\t\t\t\t data-ad-slot=\"9829044906\"><\/ins>\r\n\t\t\t<script>\r\n\t\t\t\t (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({});\r\n\t\t\t<\/script>\r\n\t\t<\/div><\/div>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"inline-image\" width=\"1200\" height=\"674\" src=\"https:\/\/forum.sbenny.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/07\/Samsung-profits-sinks-by-95-in-Q2-memory-chip-demand.jpg\" alt=\"Samsung Q2 operating profit sink by 95%, memory chip demand improves\"><\/p>\n<p>Samsung\u2019s press release states that declining smartphone shipments were the main reason behind the slumping revenue results. Samsung is confident that its newly launched foldables will drive up demand and will help its mobile division back on track. Samsung also expected global demand to recover in the second half of the year resulting in improved earnings.<\/p>\n<p> The memory business is also expected to bounce back with a renewed focus on high bandwidth memory (HBM) and DDR5 products. Samsung Display Corporation (SDC) and the Digital Appliances Business \u201csaw improved profitability\u201d while the mobile panel business saw solid sales similar to last quarter.
