With the Not-A-Bot subscription service, all new users on X will have to pay the equivalent of $1 per year to verify their account before they can start posting.  The program will be active in New Zealand (NZD 1.43) and the Philippines (PHP 42.51), with other regions to follow.  Existing X users will not be affected by the new program.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Starting today we will be testing a new program (Not A Bot) in New Zealand and the Philippines.  New and unverified accounts will need to sign up for a $1 annual subscription in order to post and interact with other posts.  As part of this test, existing users are not affected.<\/p>\n<p>This\u2026<\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Support (@Support) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/Support\/status\/1714429406192582896?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">October 17, 2023<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p> Setting up a new X account will first require a phone verification, followed by payment for one of the subscription plans.
