The new RAM chips have just taken a major step toward that goal, successfully completing verification at the advertised 10.7Gbps speed, the fastest in the industry.<\/p>\n<p>This was done in collaboration between Samsung and MediaTek. The upcoming Dimensity 9400 was connected to 16GB of the new LPDDR5X RAM and this was used as a testbed for the new chips. All MediaTek says is that the 9400 will arrive in the second half of this year (the Dimensity 9300 was announced in November 2023).<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"inline-image\" width=\"1200\" height=\"547\" src=\"https:\/\/forum.sbenny.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/07\/Samsung-Uses-MediaTeks-Dimensity-9400-to-Test-Its-107Gbps-LPDDR5X.jpg\" alt=\"Samsung Uses MediaTek's Dimensity 9400 to Test Its 10.7Gbps LPDDR5X RAM\"><\/p>\n<p>Samsung&#8217;s new LPDDR5X chips promise 25% improvements in power efficiency and performance (over the previous generation). Artificial intelligence is a big buzzword in the automotive world, too, with a focus on autonomous driving rather than text and image generation.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWorking with Samsung Electronics has enabled MediaTek\u2019s next-generation Dimensity chipset to become the world\u2019s first to be validated at LPDDR5X operating speeds up to 10.7Gbps, enabling future devices to deliver AI capabilities and mobile performance at a level never seen before.
