On the other side of the table, smart bands saw a 37% drop in shipments for the quarter, marking the sixth consecutive decline since the fourth quarter of 2020.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"inline-image\" width=\"1200\" height=\"674\" src=\"https:\/\/forum.sbenny.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/06\/Canalys-Global-smartwatch-shipments-rise-in-the-first-quarter-but.jpg\" alt=\"Canalys: Global smartwatch shipments rise in the first quarter as demand for smart bands plummets \"><\/p>\n<p>Apple shipped the largest number of smartwatches in the first quarter of 2022 with a total of 9.2 million units.  Cupertino also gained 22.1% of global market share thanks to strong demand for Apple Watch Series 7. Huawei recorded 4.6 million shipments and 11% market share while Xiaomi handled 4.2 million. of shipments and a market share of 10.1%.
