It’s the dawn of your 11th birthday. You hear your mother call your name from downstairs, and you can’t help feeling excited. You jump out of bed and glance at yourself in the mirror on the wall as you rush to the door. As you make your way down the hall the photographs hanging on pass in a blur, their subjects enacting the same animated movements you’ve seen thousands of times before. As you reach the bottom floor you rush toward the kitchen where your mother waits. The smell of breakfast wafts toward you and your stomach lets out an involuntary growl. Your stomach tosses and turns and it’s not from hunger, but from your nerves. What if it doesn’t come? As you reach the kitchen, a small white owl waits for you holding your long awaited letter to Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry.
