In November, Asus unveiled the official Android 13 update history, and the first device slated to get it was the Zenfone 9, which was due to receive the new software in December. This happened today, with multiple reports coming from Zenfone 9 owners from a group of countries on Reddit.

We can also confirm that the rollout is underway, as one of our review units has already been updated. Unlike some other companies, Asus stages its rollouts by serial number, not by country or territory, so it’s pretty much all luck of the draw – you can’t really predict when yours will get it. It might be worth checking manually, though, as that’s how we got it. There was no notification, but once we checked manually, we updated right away.

The new build is labeled WW_33.0804.2060.65 and includes the December 5, 2022 security patch level. It doesn’t get any more current than this. Asus’ ZenUI has stayed very close to stock Android, especially in looks, although it does offer some useful additions here and there.
