I have tried multiple kingroot including the one from our forums with no success.

You cannot root a 7.0 or higher with
" one click type root apps " you might have success with hard rooting using USB & pc on ur 7.0 android. I can get you precise info to try n help in next few days.

Any suggestions on what app to try? I can try hard root if someone can point me on the right direction.

No apps like kingoroot , king root, towelroot , etc are going to work. You will need to have a USB to connect your phone to pc to root it.
Its not garaunteed to work but the other " app roots " definitely won't work. Gimme lil time to find ur info
