Honor launched the flagship Magic5 series globally today, and another phone was also introduced to the international audience – the Magic Vs.
The smartphone, initially introduced in China three months ago, is the first horizontally folding smartphone with a vertical inward hinge on the global scene other than a Samsung Galaxy Z Fold, marking a new beginning for the smartphone wars in the market.
Honor has made good on its promise to bring the new Magic V out of China, and now everyone will be able to appreciate the four-piece hinge design, bright display, and impressively lightweight body that’s 10 percent lighter than its predecessor.
When we ran a pre-production unit, we were left with a lot of hope brought by the promising set of specs and features.
Speaking of specs, the Honor Magic Vs runs on the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chipset, the same as its competitor Samsung. The global audience is getting Magic UI 7.1 on Android 13, which is an improvement over the Chinese version’s A12 software.
The main camera and telephoto camera on the back have improved from the first Magic V, and the battery is now 5,000mAh with 66W fast charging.
