The Honor Pad 8 was announced in July for Chinese consumers and 1.5 months later it hit the global market. Now, the independent brand has listed a Pad X8 Lite on its website which seems like a more affordable option, but upon further inspection, we realized it’s a renamed Honor Tab 7 with Helio P22T chipset and an older Android.
The device features a 9.7-inch LCD display with a resolution of 1280 x 800 pixels. Inside, the Mediatek chipset has 32GB of storage to keep it company, which is extremely low and nowhere near the 128GB options Honor has offered its home audience. RAM is not mentioned and we can only hope it is 4GB.
The rear camera is 5MP and has no LED flash. The front camera for video calls and work / study situations at home is 2 MP.
The UI is Magic UI 6.1 based on Android 10 (yes, really). As this tablet is all about productivity, it can open up to 4 apps on the screen at the same time and also offers e-book mode in which it mimics e-ink readers.
