Huawei unveiled the Watch D, its first blood pressure-monitoring smartwatch, in December 2021. The wearable device was not expected outside the domestic market, but was eventually unveiled to international audiences in May, alongside the Mate Xs2.

The price was set at € 449, but no arrival date was provided. Huawei’s Berlin keynote at IFA 2022 included exactly the same information, but today the company finally revealed that the Watch D will arrive in Germany on October 12.

The Huawei Watch D is an otherwise fairly standard smartwatch, but it stands out with its special air pump / airbag mount mounts right next to the strap to offer high-precision blood pressure monitoring. The company says the sensors have an extremely low margin error of 3mmHg. It also comes with ECG support, like Watch GT 3 Pro.

The reason for the delay in arrival are the bureaucratic procedures of the EMA – European Medicines Agency, the body that oversees and supervises medicines throughout the EU.
