Idle Supermarket Tycoon is exactly what it sounds like. It is a tycoon wherein the player develops their supermarket gradually by buying and upgrading the departments, the cashiers, the parking lot, and other upgrades.
Review:
Idle Supermarket Tycoon is a pretty standard tycoon. It is probably one of the higher quality tycoon games you can find in the app store. The game looks really good for its relatively small file size of around 75 MB. The mechanics, though somewhat unrealistic in terms of actual business development, are simple and easy to get your head around while having at least some degree of depth.
The gameplay starts off really well as the game immediately teaches the player all of the basic mechanics of the game that the player needs to know. It has ads but none of them impede normal gameplay as the ads in the game are optional to view and they give bonuses such as money, boosts, and gems to upgrade the supermarket as a whole.
The problem arises around the middle of the game when the player has upgraded their supermarket somewhat. The supermarket's upgrade requirements become too steep to the point that ads become a necessity if the player wishes to advance the supermarket's development at a speed faster than a turtle. The game eventually becomes a slog that probably only the most dedicated tycoon players will be willing to watch ad after ad to upgrade their supermarket.
Another problem is the internet connection required to even play the game. It is not good for a tycoon game to require an internet connection to even just start the game.
Overall, Idle Supermarket Tycoon is a game that's generally OK. It starts off pretty well but falls off later on.
