Next week, as a cataclysm devastated the surface of the Earth, the Grissom Foundation gave humanity a last hope thousands of kilometers underground. Centuries later, as the corporation collapsed under its weight, three warlords compete for power and influence in a conflict that may tear the remnants of men apart. Enjoy this week's mystery!

Don't forget to post your suggestions, criticisms, and theme ideas! Furthermore, don't hesitate to contact me with grammatical or continuity errors so they may be fixed as soon as possible. Thanks for participating!

PS. This story is a collaboration between me and @IsraaNox.

Week after week, the mysteries get tougher.

Heck, I doubt that Monk, Walker Texas Ranger, Columbo, Jessica Fletcher, Jim Rockford, Barnaby Jones, Magnum, PI, Sherlock Holmes, Hercule Poirot, Miss Marple, Perry Mason, Matlock, Steve McGarrett, Quincy, M.E., Kojak, Mannix, Charlie's Angels, and The Hardy Boys collaborating could solve one of these MONSTER mysteries!!!!

Hmm... alright, so I have some questions.
First, the mysterious dead traveller isn't some named person mentioned in the story, right? Just a nameless person? Otherwise you would've given us who died? Or do we figure that out?
And second, I'm pretty sure you made a typo either at the start or the end, cause the vote asks us to find the murderer, but the end says scholars were discussing who the murdered was.
Hope these questions count as discussion and you can actually answer them, thanks <.<

Yes, the victim is not important, just the suspects. Thanks for the warning, it's fixed now.

Alright, cool.
So now I have to choose between "obvious answer and possible red herring" or "insane intricate theory that's overthinking everything".
I'm going all in on insane ramblings and if it's a real simple answer I'm gonna be real sad.

You know, I used to write the first mysteries with a focus on the victim and the aftermath of the murder. Still, people guessed the answer right away since there is naturally a big barrier between what I think my second-hand English is and what it actually is and sounds like to a native speaker. Writing about the personality of the murderer and their motivations is much better and solves this problem. It doesn't hurt that it's as ambiguous as I can make them now.

Yeah, I read a couple of the older mysteries (although always late hence this is the first I actually participate on) and they were fun to solve, and this one definitely felt harder then those, so good job.
And as a someone whose second language also is english, your english's pretty damn good so don't worry too much about it.

I have to admit, I do read all the story/explanation, especially the case and the 3 suspect detail "story". But since my mind is not detective talented, I only pick on my own feeling and thinking, without any alibi nor theory, and just cast vote away. Its surely one right, two wrong, 33,33% chance to guess it right, so my take are kinda like free shot. Can't really compare it with Kindaichi, Conan, QED or CMB. 😅

As part of their 'kill on sight' policy, Ernoan One-Eye killed the mysterious traveller! Congratulations to those who guessed it correctly!

Of these 37 lucky users, we rolled the dice, and @Hello37 won the lottery! Congratulations @Hello37!

For the rest of you, thanks for participating, but you won't leave empty-handed. Everyone will receive 25 SB Points as a consolation prize.

Good luck next contest!
