Sony today announced the new DualSense Edge controller for the PlayStation 5 controller. It is the most customizable version of a PlayStation controller to date.
DualSense Edge features two new buttons on the back, two function buttons on the bottom, upgraded joystick and trigger buttons, and a ruggedized USB design.
The rear buttons (LB and RB) provide additional functionality that allows for remapping of controls. Buttons can be swapped between lever and half dome models.
The new joysticks on the DualSense Edge are equipped with interchangeable caps, which can be switched between standard, high dome and low dome. The entire joystick module is also replaceable, so if one or both joysticks are damaged, they can be removed and replaced without replacing the entire controller.
User can adjust stick sensitivity and dead zones. You can create profiles with your preset controls and swap them, as well as access other functions such as game volume, chat balance and the controller profile settings menu via the two function buttons attached to the joysticks.
The activation buttons at the top are also adjustable. You can change the stroke and dead zones using the switches on the back.
