Last week marked the first sighting of the Asus ROG Phone 7 on Geekbench, possibly the 7D variant (judging by its ASUS_AI2205_D module number). Of course, the previous Model D used a Dimension chip, so this could be a different variant. And there is no shortage of variants, there are at least two more lurking in the Geekbench database.

Here is the AI2205_B and AI2205_C, presumably the Asus ROG Phone 7 and 7 Pro. Unconfirmed reports state that the C version will be available in India.

It should be noted that all three variants we have seen so far, B, C and D, use the base version of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2, the one with 3.19GHz prime cores. In the past, the company has presented souped-up versions of Qualcomm’s flagship chip, for example the ROG Phone 5 (and Pro) launched with the base Snapdragon 888 (2.84 GHz), then came the ROG Phone 5s (and Pro ), which ran the Snapdragon 888+ (2.99 GHz).

There is a version of the 8 Gen 2 that runs its main core at 3.36GHz, up from the 3.19GHz seen here, but that’s exclusive to Samsung.
