Motorola launched the first phone with a 200MP camera last week, the Edge 30 Ultra. For € 900 this flagship offers excellent value for money, even in addition to the large 1 / 1.22 ”ultra-high resolution sensor.

You get a 6.67 “curved AMOLED display with 144Hz refresh rate and FHD + resolution (it’s a 10-bit panel with HDR10 + support but relatively old Gorilla Glass 5). The phone is powered by a Snapdragon 8+ chipset Gen 1 (with 8/128 GB of base memory and options up to 12/512 GB) and a 4,610 mAh battery with 125W wired and 50W wireless charging.

You can check out our hands-on review of the Motorola Edge 30 Ultra to get a sneak peek at what the phone is capable of. We have camera samples, yes, even 200MP.

Not that you’ll be shooting many 200MP shots, this sensor is really meant to be used with 16-to-1 or 4-to-1 binning to get 12.5MP (with 2.56µm effective pixels) or 50 images MP (1.28 µm). The 50MP ultrawide camera can also hold up to 12.5MP by default (4 to 1), the 60MP selfie camera also offers binning.
