Introducing Android environments to PC
Depending on the purpose, Developing, Creating custom kernels, roms and Gaming, mostly Gaming,

I'll be droping the categories for different users from best to...not best

Dedicated for Gamers:
1.Prime OS
Its a very compact OS, suitable for laptops and Desktop & also for Touchscreen PCs. It comes with a preinstalled keymapper for non touchscreen pc, a gamehub, and is windows styled, so you have your start button, your Taskbar, your notifications panel but with a touch of android in it so you can place widgets on homescreens, It runs all modern android abi's (x86, x86_64, armeabi, armeabi-v7a, arm64-v8a). Now for the Cons, we havent heard from the developers lately, so you're stuck with Android 7.1.1 (Nougat) nothing wrong with it though but android 11 (R) is already out, so it'll feel abit outdated, I thinks thats about it.

Prime OS Download

PS: There are three versions of Prime OS, so download depending on your CPU.

  1. PrimeOS Mainline 64 bit (for newest systems 2014+) -
Use this variant only if you have a cpu which was manufactured in or after year 2014, For example -> [ Intel Core i series 5th gen or above OR Intel celeron N4000 OR AMD A8 7410 etc. ] Also make sure that your CPU has SSE 4.2 instruction support, just enter your cpu model on google and you can find all this info easily. This variant of PrimeOS will work well for both Intel and AMD GPUs, however, if you use a desktop and have a Nvidia GPU, you should not use this variant as it will cause lockups and will lead to freezes, but if you have a laptop, your Intelgpu will work well instead of Nvidia. In caseyou get any graphic glitches on this variant, you should switch to PrimeOS Standard.
This variant of PrimeOS will be using 4.19 kernel and 18.1.0 mesa, once you install this variant of PrimeOS, you will always get OTA of this variant only, in case you want to switch to the other variant (for older systems), you must re-install PrimeOS.
  2. PrimeOS Standard 64 bit (for newer systems 2011+) -
Use this variant only if you have a cpu which was manufactured in or after year 2011, For example -> [ Intel Core i series 2nd gen or above OR Intel celeron N3350 OR AMD A8 5550M etc. ] Also make sure that your CPU has SSE 4.2 instruction support, just enter your cpu model on google and you can find all this info easily. This variant of PrimeOS will work well for Older Intel, AMD, NvidiaGPUs.
This variant of PrimeOS will be using 4.14 kernel and 17.1.10 mesa, once you install this variant of PrimeOS, you will always get OTA of this variant only, in case you want to switch to the other variant (for older systems), you must re-install PrimeOS.
  3. PrimeOS Classic 32 bit (for older systems) -
Use this variant if you have a cpu which was manufactured before year 2011, For example ->[ Intel Core i series 1st gen or below OR Intel Pentium dual core OR Intel Pentium G620 OR AMD Phenom II X6 1100Tetc. ] Just enter your cpu model on googleand you can find this info easily. This variant of PrimeOS will work well for all Old Intel, Old AMD and Old Nvidia GPUs. This version will also work on 32-bit systems, In case you cannot boot this variant of PrimeOS, you should try using PrimeOS standard or mainline.
This variant of PrimeOS will be using 4.14 kernel and 17.1.10 mesa, once you install this variant of PrimeOS, you will always get OTA of this variant only, in case you want to switch to the other variant (for older systems), you must re-install PrimeOS.

2. PHOENIX OS
Gotta give credit for the UI design of Phoenix, its pretty good also the same windows style, and and Its also capped at Andriod 7.1.1 (Nougat) no OTAs...yet, but unlike Prime OS no specs required, there are also modded and tweaked variants. I will only be posting the link for the original version. So quick comparison with Prime OS:

Preinstalled keymapper ✅
Windows styled ✅
Compact for laptops ✅Prime ❌Phoenix
Prerooted ✅
GameHub ✅Prime ❌Phoenix

Thats it😁

PS: I'll leave the installation tutorials below soon enough.

3. Andriod-x86 (8.1 release 4)
Its a stable version of stock android (no windows styled). Good thing is that it comes prerooted out of the box 😂. Now the pros it supports all android abi's except arm64-v8a, but theres a work around so no big deal, a major pro is the availability of updates, the developers are currently working on android 10 (Q), and also on android 11 (R). So if you choose android x86 you'll benefit from OTA updates and security patches. You can still get that windows styled desktop with the help of app called taskbar, no fear it comes preinstalled, Cons, you don't just start the android and enter gaming, you have to enable arm native bridge to be able to play android games, or do anything relating to graphics, pls bear in mind that this is on of the only variants of androidx86 that support vulkan hardware, lastly due to the fact that there is no arm64-v8a support, some games won't work, this variant is a little bit on the developers section.
