Not a bad movie.....just done WRONG!! (WARNING!!! SPOILERS UP AHEAD!!!!!!)

Review:
Okay, for starters, the FIRST movie wasn't a bad movie at all......UNTIL you got to the last 5 minutes, and it just ruined the entire experience. They definitely had something, but then you found out that NO, the doll was not haunted, it was just a creepy adult living in the damn walls acting a fool. As a fan of horror movies (which don't even exist anymore) this just COMPLETELY felt disrespectful.

Now, fast forward to THIS movie....it almost feels like Hollywood has either lost its collective mind, or they're just TRYING to insult movie goers.

The movie starts out with the typical family moving into a house in the woods. the house has a history...blah blah typical blah. The child of the family finds a dirty ass doll in the woods, which the family thinks is actually okay for him to keep (now, stop me if you've heard ANY of this plot previously). Time progresses. Stranger and his dog shows up. He seems to know things about the history of the house, and the doll. The doll has a name....Brahms.

Now let me stop there....

In the first movie, the adult living in the wall? Yeah....HIS name was Brahms. the doll was HIS doll. he was screwed up in the head (that's the short version), and he made the old couple living there take care of the doll as if it were a real boy. NONE OF THIS WAS THE PREMISE OF THIS SEQUEL THOUGH!!!

According to the stranger in the woods, the part where the adult in the walls from the first movie being NAMED Brahms was only danced around, and he focused primarily on the doll, hinting that the doll might be "in control" (think Chucky). The doll freaked the guy out the entire movie.

So from time to time, the doll would move on its own and even flip heavy tables, but you never saw the table-flipping, so the family thought it was their son doing it...when he was CLEARLY not strong enough to do so. Now, in the first movie, whenever you noticed any change in the doll it was because the dude living in the walls moved the doll, re-positioned the doll, and did everything creepy and made it look like the doll did it. That was NOT the case in this movie. In this movie, it was literally ALL THE DOLL.

So, fast forward....

The man's dog gets slaughtered. People think the young boy had something to do with it, but the stranger in woods KNEW it was the doll. It eventually comes out (after a lot of poking and prodding) that the doll has been haunted all this time and has killed MULTIPLE people over the years (think Annabelle). Why they didn't just go with THIS story in the first movie and then build on it in the first place is beyond me.

At the end of the movie....after a huge display of power from the doll....the family leaves the house and goes back to the city, but their son, like an idiot, keeps this mask that resembles the face of the doll with him and they end everything by almost hinting that this isn't the end of the story. But in all honesty, this NEEDS TO BE the end of this story, because they completely botched this one. Once again, this could have been something really good, but they screwed it up by going against their OWN storyline and making things up as they went along in the sequel. It's not a BAD movie....but if you're gonna watch this thing, I'd recommend you NOT watch the first one, because it will throw you ALLLLLLL the way off.
