Can somebody educate me on Banastre Tarleton?

We all know that Colonel Tavington is slightly historically based on Banastre Tarleton, but I want to know who the real Tarleton was and not his bullcrap Hollywood fiction fairytale.

Banastre Tarleton, A colonel (later Promoted General) who fought in the American Revolution in the British Ranks, Notably Commanding British forces in the Battle of Cowpens June 17, 1781 South Carolina, and the Charlottesville Raid also in 1781. I believe he was born in Liverpool, England August 21, 1754, and died in Herefordshire, England 1833. Was this info what you were searching for @Leonas .
