Choices of Three Kingdoms
SBENNY.COM's Forum Exclusive

It was Dawn of An Era in The Land of The Dragon's descendants.
The Han Dynasty faced sporadic uprisings all over the country from rebels that had took up under The Banner of Yellow Turbans.

YOU..as your fellow villagers too, joined up with the conscripts to form a rag-tag army as back-up..a make-shift solution facing the rebellions.
After months of hectic battles, you finally garnered enough merits to be noticed by the local magistrate and got the chance to escort a shipment of looted goods sent to The Capital City as expected bribes and standard tributes.

Weeks later, you arrived at Luo Yang. The Capital was bustling with activities. Rumours of huge armies of rebels converging towards Luo Yang had panicked the local population. Most had chosen to evacuate as they still could.
The Court had grown weak from too much interferences of The Eunuchs. The Emperor of Middle Kingdom was merely a boy of a little bit over ten passes of seasons, after the sudden death of his late father the previous month. Hushed gossips pointed to a probable poisoining case. Much chaos ensued resulting from so much uncertainities.

For the week after, you followed orders doing menial tasks expected out of such a lowly-stationed conscript.
Then suddenly all hell broke loose in The Capital.
The armies of Yuan Shao and Dong Zhuo clashed openly on the streets of Luo Yang. Unexpected development as the armies of rebels were getting nearer to the outskirts of The Capital.

Yuan Shao was an illustrious Imperial General inheriting the position from generations of Yuans out of North-eastern China, since the beginning of The Han Dynasty.
Dong Zhuo came from North-western China, just a lowly Provincial Governor..before he managed to secure the loyalty of Lu Bu. The Greatest Warrior ever born of China, with the famous saying:
"Amongst horses..Red Hare.
Amongst men..Lu Bu."

A week ago, a balance of peace was an outward appearance to most that didn't understand the fragile condition of politics at The Capital.
At one side was Yuan Shao holding up the rights of the noble class of society, while Dong Zhuo had been sucking up to The Eunuchs faction for as much benefits to his future career.

An Imperial Uncle decided to take a drastic course of actions. Conspiring with Yuan Shao to free The Young Emperor from the clutches of The Eunuchs. As it happened, words got out and while The Imperial Army under Yuan Shao were butchering eunuchs all over..there suddenly appeared huge numbers of Provincial Army under Dong Zhuo fighting on The Eunuchs' side.

Probably from lack of actual battle experiences out of decades of peace, The Imperial Army couldn't prevail over battle-hardened Provincial Army that were used to skirmishes handling the incursions of horse-nomad tribes from North of China.
While the chaotic battles were raging all over Luo Yang, the news spread of The Emperor gone missing from his Palace.

It was a perfect situation for The Imperial Uncle to step upon the vacant Imperial Throne. Alas, history decided otherwise. Almost all the eunuchs were killed and The Imperial Uncle himself counted as one of the casualties.
Sole Power was left to Yuan Shao and Dong Zhuo's whims at that time. Battle outcomes decided The Victor on the side of Dong Zhuo, with Lu Bu contributing much of the merits. A force to be reckoned indeed. This towering Giant of a Man, with unmatched martial ferocity.

Yuan Shao escaped to his hometown to the North-East with whats left of his Imperial Army, while Dong Zhuo looted Luo Yang with impunity.
The burning and random killings of Luo Yang's citizens only abided after the revelation that The Emperor, in fact had managed to escape out of The Capital.
The Search begun in earnest, with Dong Zhuo himself accompanied by Lu Bu and the rest of Provincial Army scouring the countrysides outside Luo Yang for any sign of The Emperor.

- - - - - - - -

YOUR story started at this stage. All this time you had been holed up, guarding the South Gate of The Capital as per your responsibility. You had few influences enough to dare facing an army and had to wait out the chaos happening all over.

Suddenly, Luo Yang was abuzzed with the news of The Arrivals from the South.
From Central South of China arisen The Army of Sapphire Qirin, leads by Cao Cao. A capable son of a local magistrate adopted by a eunuch. A grandson of a eunuch for the continuation of Family's surname. His father's original family was of The Xiahou's.
Cao Cao claimed he has The Emperor under his protection and leading his army to retake The Capital.
He had his cousins, Xiahou Yuan and Xiahou Dun as Generals.
Guo Jia as an able Advisor.
He had cunning and organizational skills as a base for Imperial Ambition.
The Order Path.

The Army of Azure Dragon from South-West was under the leadership of Liu Bei. A distant relative of The Imperial Family, bearing the same surname. Albeit had been living since childhood as a improverished shoe-maker, he had the support of two fiercely capable sworn-brothers.
Guan Yu was a towering man over two meters tall, with a charcoal-pigmented face of a demon. He was known as the second brother, after Liu Bei aided him on his escape from the law. He was a lowly civil servant caught killing an officer of the law that was treating citizens unfairly.
Zhang Fei himself was a former butcher with volatile temper. He was at the scene when Guan Yu commited the crime and he decided to help Guan Yu. They both found a refuge under Liu Bei's mud-hut abode and decided to become sworn-brothers after a bout of wine-drinking revealing their personalities and ambitions suited each other.
Zhang Fei was known as the youngest brother. It was decided by age and Liu Bei was the eldest brother becaused he was oldest of them three.
Liu Bei himself claimed A Mandate of Heaven for The Restoration of Peace.
He had The Oath of Peach Garden as Solid Brotherhood bond.
The Balance Path.

Sun Jian leads The Army of Ruby Phoenix out of South-East of Luo Yang. His claim to entitlement of a chance at The Capital was that he possesed The Imperial Seal.
It was made of pure white Jade from the North-Pole. A sign since the beginning of The Dynasty of Heavenly approval.
Also deep-pocket for bribes and overflowing grains much needed at that time.
Sun Jian was from a rich merchant family that controlled the east-southern coasts of China like free-reign pirate-bands for generations. His army's composition reflected that background.
His General was Gan Ning, a renown heartless pirate.
Zhou Yu and Pang Tong were his Advisors.
Also his brothers..Sun Ce a ferocious fighter and Sun Quan a skillful diplomat as A Family Trinity.
He had wealth and ferocity as a foundation for Power.
The Chaos Path.

Which Path will YOU decide upon?

(Votes will Decide The Next Path the Story will Develop. YOU made The Choice!
Once it reaches 10 votes on a choice or the highest one on votes after three days.
Suggestions and Critiques will be gladly received as intended.
Looks like I have to start a new thread to proceed on the continuation of the story. As this is an experimentation, we shall do.
All's Well ends Well)
Project..abandoned.
Apologies.

Liu Bei's faction of Balance 👌
hmm..was meant to rewrite History.
With..Cao Cao.

Why the majority of the world always side with..status quo?
Cao Cao contribute sooo much to the economic progress and political stability.
Albeit by hook and by crook.
But in time of chaos..an iron will & hand was the right man at the right place.
😀♥👌
