Review:
Highlands, Deep Waters is an interactive Horror choice based game by Fernando B Neves and Lucas Zaper which revolves around the choices you make. It is published under Hosted Games which is a platform for Independent Novel writers. In this interactive novel you get the choice to investigate a series of murders as a Detective, a Criminal or a Scholar in a small Scottish Town.

This has to be one of the most Unique novels I have ever come across as it is one of the few HG novels of the horror genre. Horror is something of a genre which is hardly touched by authors as it requires exceptional execution , worldbuilding and in-depth setting formation. Fernando B Neves and Lucas Zaper have both done an incredible job at providing quality horror and mystery experience to their readers by sticking to horror fundamentals and added their own elements of the genre. They have made excellent use of fear factor, instinctive fears and tapped the right common factors by using Lovecraftian elements. Lovecraftian is a sub-genre of horror which makes the use of extraterrestrial beings and cosmic horror.

The atmosphere or the setting present in this novel is truly one of best parts of the novel. The story mainly revolves in a small Scottish town. Scottish towns usually remind us the charming towns of the likes Millport but in this case we are made experience the constant eerie setting which sends a chill down our spines. Although the town appears to be innocent and simple, there is always the fear of being watched. Though the mysterious case appears to be a homicide , the story progresses to show that there is something more horrific and bigger to it.

In conclusion this is a must read novel if you're a sucker for horror and mystery.

Would you recommend this to other users? I definitely recommend this.
