...and then, decided to post it here.
Most of my creations were written for the purpose of passing my Literature subjects. But since I poured my creativity, my heart and soul for each of them, I feel the need to show it!
Here's my first submission:
Aftertaste
I thought that a kiss would taste like honey.
But when our lips met, it was a different story.
The truth is, I never minded the flavor
because in that heartbeat, I did savor
the kiss that once brought me pleasure.
I really believed what we had was special,
but my memory and the reality's reciprocal.
Your lips, I had noticed, were getting bitter
and I was much a fool, still in denial
to hope that it can still get better.
I tried to ignore that acrid taste with time.
Yet it never changed, like us—strained and never fine.
In the end, we broke up and cut off the line,
leaving only bitterness as an aftertaste
that ever reminds me of my love you waste.
Feel free to leave your thoughts in the comments.
