Name of the movie you are reviewing: jay and silent bob reboot (2019)
after their front gets shut down, jay and silent bob find themselves in a somewhat familiar predicament. they have to once again go to hollywood and stop a "bluntman and chronic" film from being made.
Review:
the movie begins with jay and silent bob getting busted running an illicit weed growing operation and having to go to court. after signing paperwork without reading the fine print, they accidentally sign away their rights to use their own names to saban, who also owns the rights to their "bluntman and chronic" comics and plans on making a reboot movie. the two embark on a cross-country trip to try and stop the movie from being made. along the way, they get reacquainted with old friends and make some new friends/enemies as well.
the movie itself really lays into the whole reboot culture we have currently in hollywood. it satirizes it in a fairly funny way and isn't trying to hide it at all. it pretty much follows a similar story to the 2001 jay and silent bob strike back film, but adds jay's daughter milly and her friends as the diversified reboot cast. while jay and silent bob are on a quest to make sure the "bluntman and chronic reboot" doesn't get made, milly and her friends are trying to make their chinese friend shan yu's dream of going to chronic con come true.
a lot of cameos happen as well, for fans of the jay and silent bob/dogma/clerks movies.
Would you recommend this to other users? it's a fun movie, but it's not amazing or anything. a good way to pass the time. i would recommend it more to fans of the franchise.
