Name of the movie you are reviewing: Most Dangerous Game

Liam Hemsworth plays the hero of the film Dodge, who has been diagnosed with a terminal illness and only has a few weeks to live.
And he was given an opportunity to choose whether to die like this, leaving his pregnant wife and the soon to be born child helpless, or to accept the proposal of a businessman played by Waltz, Miles Sellers, and participate in a hunting game, not as a hunter but as a prey.

Review:
He needs to survive from 5 hunters within 24 hours, and for every hour he survived, he will get more rewards. If he can survive until the end, he will receive a huge sum of $24.5 million.
This show is adapted from the short story of the same name published by Richard Connell in 1924. The original story tells the story of a hunter from New York who lived on a desert island in the Caribbean Sea and was hunted by a Russian nobleman who enjoyed hunting humans on the island.
It gained favourable recognition upon its initial publication in 1924, winning the prestigious O. Henry Memorial Award for short fiction. Its popularity was further established when the first film version of the story was produced in 1932. The setting of "Hunting Game" has also provided inspiration for countless horror, adventure, and action production. For example, "The Hunger Games" played by Liam Hemsworth, and the most recent one in the movie"The Hunt" directed by Craig Chobe.

Although the rules are slightly different, this series retains the core concept of the original "hunting game". It does not involve personal grievances, and the hunter isn't always there with a desire to kill. Although the prey is always being set up to join the game. Both parties rely on their own skills within the rules and are willing to bet their lives. Killing is often not the ultimate goal, it is only the last step to achieve the goal. What the hunter enjoys is the pursuit of the prey, and the human is the most advanced prey.

This kind of setting can be the easiest way to put the unrelated people fight one and other, and the adrenaline of the audience can be quickly pumped up by grasping the rhythm properly. But there's a problem about "The Most Dangerous Game", that is, its entire viewing experience is linked to the broadcast platform, Quibi. The entire movie was split into video clips within 10 minutes of each episode, and can only be watched on mobile phones.

If the film is really designed to be a TV series, and then the content duration of each episode should also be produced and adjusted accordingly. But, clearly no. And It took two weeks for the 'series' to be completely out. Who wants to watch movies like this?? Of course, we can wait for it to be all out and then finish it one shot, or watch it on a larger screen with some help.

An ingenious design of "The Most Dangerous Game" is to set the hunting game in the city instead of in the jungle of the deserted island. Both parties can be in everyday scenes such as crowds, streets and shopping malls while playing the game of life and death. With this kind of contrast, it can play a lot of tricks, but the film does not fully utilize it. Many times, Dodge, knowing that the crowd should be used as a cover and restraint, still runs to a place where there is no one to fight against the hunter.

Dodge is quite a good runner, which is why he is listed as the best candidate for prey. But besides running faster, most of the time he's combat skills and fighting choreography also not very impressive, getting rid of the hunters mainly by luck.
In comparison, the portrayal of the hunter played by Chris Webb is more distinctive. He appears as a classy man, where he still needs to sort out his hairstyle before he starts his attack. But just like a dagger in a well-cut suit, his politeness also hides the desire to kill.

And in contrast, the descriptions of the other hunters are relatively rough. Except for the narcissistic psychologists, who left quite an impression. The other three are people with no background settings to fill up the gaps. The exposure of Miles's conspiracy is an important turning point, but viewers who have seen several movies of the same type can basically guess it at the beginning.

In the setting of a "hunting game", the identity conversion between hunter and prey is a classic element. Perhaps it is to pave the way for the next season. This show separates the hunter and the game organizer. Although Dodge was able to counter-kill the hunter in the end, it did not destroy the deadly game. After the game was over, Miles, who dragged him into the water, continued to find the next prey for the next battle royale.

What's more worth mentioning is that Quibi, which has just been online for two months, has fallen into a crisis of layoffs and staff pay cuts. Thus, the future of this second season is also a little bit uncertain.

Would you recommend this to other users? I guess so? this show is suitable for killing time. The plot does not require much thinking, and you don't have to worry too much if you miss something in the middle.
