Name of the eBook you are reviewing: Rebecca by Daphne Du Maurier

This book tells the story of a young unnamed protagonist who meets a handsome and older man in Monte Carlo. This woman ends up falling in love with him and the couple enter into a strange marriage despite a troubled past.

Review:
It's known that 'Maxim de Winter' adored his wife Rebecca who has recently drowned at sea in a suspicious way. On arriving home to Maxim's Mansion 'Manderley' after the honeymoon with the new wife, the unnamed protagonist faces a painful struggle against this 'other woman' Rebecca, whose presence remains intensive even dead. The protagonist is constantly compared to the Rebecca who was loved by all and she faces cruel comments while she is doubting herself as a good wife. As the new lady of the house, she keeps struggling to adjust to Maxim's privileged life and to find her own identity through the perfect Rebecca's left pieces. But as the story unfolds it becomes clear that Rebecca wasn't as innocent and good as people had believed her to be. Now, including her death develops in a totally unexpected way.

Would you recommend this to other users? This is an absolutely strong novel to which you can relate because of the themes of identity crisis and competition, in this case with another woman, that will undoubtedly have resonance for many people.

Manderley is brilliantly as the hellish gothic mansion to which the protagonist can't adjust and this Mansion is almost a character itself. It seems to breathe and tremble with a haunting presence. The abnormal obsession of a character with Rebecca intensifies the gloomy atmosphere.

This novel has surely something for everyone, maybe romance or horror, or you'll prefer crime and mystery. However, the turn of events will leave you engrossed in it.

(Okay so it's second time it happens to me that I upload a book review and it says it has removed by no reason at all. So yeah, again)
