3.John walks into a bar and asks for a glass of water. The bartender then shoots the ceiling with a gun. John says thank you and walk out. Why did John want the water?

3. John had hiccups. The gun shot scared him and he stopped hiccuping. Alternatively, John was just thirsty, the bartender shot a fly because he didn't have a flyswatter, and John got his water.
