Reviewed Device: Xiaomi Redmi 8a
Description
A brief description would be that for your money your getting a whole pack minus one, believe me when I say 'minus one'.
For roughly a $100 you get:
Corning gorilla glass 5
720x1520 6.2" ips LCD display
USB Type-C charger with 18w fast charge
Splash Proof body build
12mp rear Sony camera with 8mp front
5000 mah battery
Snapdragon 439 chipset with LTE
MIUI 11 (Android 9 pie)
No fingerprint sensor
Fluid optical face unlock
You see, these are flagship specs on a smartphone that's merely 100 bucks. For the 439 chipset, I don't find anything wrong with it in 2020. It's not a gaming device but it does ok on the gaming end and it comes with a gaming hub embedded in the phone software.
All round, it packs a punch for its price range. It actually rates a 3.5 star so I just put 4 instead

Things I like
It's a cheap device with flagship specs. I love the build quality of the device. And the type-c on a 100 bucks device
Things I don't like
It doesn't come with a Fingerprint sensor. I would have preferred a new processor. Nothing else.
Overall Ratings:
Verdict
I would for people with a low budget, or for people buying smartphones for their aged parents and also for kids? Ionno tho...
