Oppo today introduced ColorOS 13 to the global audience. The user interface is based on Android 13 and includes numerous visual changes, several new AoD features and improved collaboration between devices. The company has promised that its operating system will reach Find X5 and Find X5 Pro by the end of this month, and a total of 60 versions will receive it by the end of the first half of 2023.

Oppo used a lot of whimsical words to introduce the Aquamorphic design, which basically brings more rounded corners within its interface and widget. The icons look better, and the manufacturer has also integrated Material You into ColorOS.

The animations are also slightly different with a watery effect and now Android’s color palettes have made it to Oppo’s internal operating system.

Changes to the Always-on display include Bitmoji and information about the music currently playing. The latter widget currently only works with Spotify and the built-in music app. Oppo also offers insights into always on, including when and how much the phone was unlocked.

Playback control also made it to the Control Center, as the panel naturally evolved beyond its primary use as a notification shade. It also supports horizontal layout, aligning levers to the left and notifications to the right.

Functional changes in ColorOS 13 bring improvements in terms of privacy and security. The UI now automatically pixilates avatars and names in chat screenshots, a feature that would save a lot of time for people sharing pictures of their conversations with the public. Multi-screen collaboration between devices works with Oppo Air tablets or any Windows laptop.
