Rockstar co-founder Dan Houser, the creative director of games such as Grand Theft Auto and Red Dead Redemption, has founded a new company in the UK
A user of the GTA forums noted that Houser has registered Absurd Ventures in Games with Companies House, the official government organization responsible for activities operating in the UK
According to the listing, the new company will provide “ready-made interactive leisure and entertainment software development”. Houser is also appointed as a producer and creative director within the company, suggesting that he has a leading role within it.
Companies House’s listing comes after similar registrations in the US Houser created two Delaware-based companies under the names Absurd Ventures LLC and Absurd Ventures in Games LLC.
Houser is best known for his work at Rockstar, which he co-founded with his brother Sam Houser. The couple led the development studio for more than two decades. Dan left the company in 2020 following the release of Red Dead Redemption 2.
