The Xiaomi 13 Ultra was the centerpiece of the company’s launch event today, but the company also unveiled the Xiaomi Pad 6 and Pad 6 Pro tablets. The new slates bring updates in key areas over their predecessors, including new chipset, improved displays and a fresh new design inspired by Xiaomi 13 series phones.

Both tablets feature 11-inch IPS LCD with 1800 x 2880px resolution and 16:10 aspect ratio with 144Hz refresh rate. The Pro model gets a snappier 144Hz refresh rate, while the vanilla model maintains the 120Hz of the Pad 5 series.

Xiaomi Pad 6 Pro gets last year’s flagship Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chipset, while Pad 6 comes with Snapdragon 870 SoC. Both tablets boot MIUI Pad 14 based on Android 13. Xiaomi Pad 6 Pro offers 8,600mAh battery with 67W charging, while the Pad 6 packs an even larger 8,840mAh cell but with a slower 33W charging.

Pad 6 Pro has a 50MP main camera on the back and a new 20MP front-facing sensor with auto-tracking to follow you on video calls. Pad 6 is left with a 13MP rear sensor and an 8MP front camera. Both tablets come with quad-speaker setups with Dolby Atmos.

Xiaomi also announced a new keyboard case and second-generation smart pen accessory with lower input latency, longer battery life, and improved wear resistance on the pen tip.

Xiaomi Pad 6 and Pad 6 Pro are available in black, blue and champagne gold colors. The Xiaomi Pad 6 starts at CNY 1,999 ($291 converted) for the 6/128GB model. The 8/128GB version costs CNY 2,099 ($305 converted) while the 8/256GB model costs CNY 2,399 ($349 converted).

The Xiaomi Pad 6 Pro starts at CNY 2,699 ($392 converted) for the 8/256GB base trim. It is also available in 8/256GB (CNY 2,699) and 12/256GB (CNY 2,999) trims, while the top-of-the-line 12/512GB model is priced at CNY 3,299 ($480 converted).

Both tablets are available for pre-order in China, with open sales starting on April 21. International pricing and availability were not detailed.
