introduction
The OnePlus Nord 3 is finally here! It’s been more than two years since Nord 2 hit shelves, and it seems the wait was worth it. The third Nord offers a flagship Fluid AMOLED, the top-of-the-line Dimension 9000 5G chip and an improved main camera with a high-end Sony IMX890 sensor.
Okay, we’re not pretending the Nord 2T didn’t exist, but it was such an insignificant upgrade that it offered faster 80W Super VOOC charging and, well, nothing else. Fortunately, this charging solution has made its way to the Nord 3.
Let’s start at the beginning. The OnePlus Nord 3 manages to keep the distinctive dual-glass design with double-circle camera arrangement, but it has been slightly modified. There’s no protruding rectangular housing for the camera, which makes for a cleaner design, and the phone is now officially IP54-rated for dust and splash resistance.
Fluid AMOLED is now bigger, faster, and more colorful — it’s a 6.74-inch panel with a 120Hz dynamic refresh rate, 10-bit color depth, up to 1000Hz touch response, and HDR10+ support with support Netflix and Prime out of the box.
Moving on to the chipset, it’s the flagship Dimension 9000 5G, a huge upgrade over the previous generation Dimension 1200/1300 with a top-end processor and graphics worthy of a flagship killer. Yep, we couldn’t help but mention the iconic words.

The triple camera setup on the back initially looks identical to the one on the Nord 2: a 50MP OIS primary, an 8MP ultrawide, and a 2MP macro. But the main camera now relies on a high-end Sony IMX890 sensor (found on the OnePlus 11, Oppo Find X6 Pro), which should improve the quality of photos and videos. And the new hardware platform enabled 4K video capture at 60fps.
The OnePlus Nord 3 also features Dolby Atmos-compatible stereo speakers, a large 5,000mAh battery with 80W SuperVOOC charging, and runs on Android 13 with the latest OxygenOS 13.1 launcher.

One thing that isn’t obvious at first is the 16MP Quad-Bayer selfie camera. This type of selfie camera, at least at this resolution, should be limited to budget phones and not mid-range, worse, premium mid-range.
And now that we’ve got him out of the way, let’s get this Nord out of his box.
OnePlus Nord 3 unboxing
The Nord 3 ships in a black box with blue Nord logos. Inside, you’ll find the phone itself with a protective film pre-applied, an 80W power adapter, and one of the signature red USB (AC) cables.

There is a large compartment for the card, but there is no protective case inside. Instead, you’ll find some documents, a Nord thank-you letter, and an exclusive Red Cable club card.
