List

The Jump Force roster represents all the Shonen Jump series. Popular anime programs such as Naruto, A piece, dragon ballAnd Hunter x Hunter have characters featured in Jump Force. In total, there are over 40 characters from 16 series, meaning your favorites will likely be there to play. You can also purchase a variety of DLC characters.

Unfortunately, all the characters feel similar and play in the same style. There is little variety on the roster despite its large size, making it redundant who you play. While it is possible to customize the characters with outfits and moves, this is also not really worth it. None of the extra outfits are particularly impressive, and the moves don’t add much to the gameplay.

History

Jump Force begins with the real world that somehow merges with the reality of Shonen Jump. This allows a powerful force known as Venom to attack humanity. Determined to stop the invasion, the heroes of the anime series team up and form their own task force. As the story unfolds, it later becomes clear that an evil villain is manipulating events. The dark figure wants to permanently merge the imaginary world with our universe.

If this sounds like a stereotypical premise, then you are right. The story does little to engage the player or try to tell an interesting narrative. It just flows from one point of the plot to the other without any meaning. Worse still is the fact that your progress is often interrupted by having to raise your level to do the next mission. Grinding is one of the worst things about modern games and Jump Force embraces it to the extreme.

Even if the story was good, you wouldn’t be able to enjoy it. Painfully slow progress makes it certain. Eventually, without any kind of interesting story, Jump Force loses its shine very quickly. Combined with the lack of variety in the missions, it all feels very stale. It wouldn’t have been so bad if Jump Force hadn’t forced you into a narrative and let you fight instead. But attaching a plot that you don’t enjoy and you can’t avoid ruins the whole experience.
