I was also having trouble with installing the mod and the game kept crashing after just a few seconds. But I noticed that when I extracted the zip for the game cache, the obb was within 2 layers of folders. So it went Storage →Android →obb →com.glu.stardomkim→com.glu.stardomkim →then obb file...

Everything works really well except for buying outfits and hairstyles. Buying the ones requiring gems causes the app to freeze after you finish the chapter and when you reload you're back to the same outfit picking option.
