Name of the app you are reviewing: Epic Monster TD

This is an idle tower defense game where you use monsters to defend your home from the governments of the world. At the end of each wave you earn gold and essence, which can be used to upgrade monsters and unlock new monsters/abilities/researches respectively.

Review:
Progression seems pretty standard for an idle game, slow and almost steady. The game is a little heavy on trying to force micro transactions and ads, the latter of which give decent rewards (variety of effects lasting 2 minutes or some currency) and provide a secondary progression of increasing your damage by 10% for every 5 ads watched. There are also leaderboards that contribute to the only online aspect of the game, which is the rankings. They just seem to exist, and do not provide any benefit besides bragging rights. The tournaments they host do provide a special currency based on ranking that can be used for further upgrades. Despite being an idle game, the only real offline reward is gold and not waves. There is a prestige system where after passing wave 51 or higher (varies depending on progress), you can move on to a new map and get points to unlock and boost upgrades with. This is a grind focused game and the devs must've known this as after passing wave 250 there is an option to skip to each 5th wave up until 75% of progress made by your largest prestige. There is a special rotation of maps called challenge maps that provide yet more currency for upgrades but are much harder than the normal map rotation.

Would you recommend this to other users? If you are a fan of grinding and leaving your phone on all night for progress, then this is a decent game. It's pretty niche, being a combination of 2 genres that don't entirely fit together, but they make it work. Pretty heavy on the micro transactions, and has a leaderboard system similar to Grow Castle where it is mostly for bragging rights outside of tournaments and challenge maps. Slightly above par game.
