Heya,
Any of you who know me know that I am completely and totally obsessed with the Legend of Zelda Game Series.
The series follows the protagonist Link, who usually is on some major quest to save the land of Hyrule from evil (usually caused by his archnemesis Ganondorf) and in the process, save Princess Zelda.
From time to time in different games, sometimes you are playing as one of Link's descendants or battling someone slightly different than Ganon (such as Zant in Twilight Princess) but in the end, the games all have the same type of feel to them. At their core, they are about solving puzzles, battling foes, and saving people at any cost.
Here is a list of the Legend of Zelda games in order by the year of their release as well as the original consoles they were available for:
The Legend of Zelda (Famicom, NES) – 1986
Zelda II: The Adventure of Link (Famicom, NES) – 1987
The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past (SNES) – 1991
The Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening (GB) – 1993
The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time (N64) – 1998
The Legend of Zelda: Majora’s Mask (N64) – 2000
The Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Seasons and Oracle of Ages (GBC) – 2001
The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker (GC) – 2002
The Legend of Zelda: Four Swords Adventures (GC) – 2004
The Legend of Zelda: The Minish Cap (GBA) – 2004
The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess (GC, Wii) – 2006
The Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass (DS) – 2007
The Legend of Zelda: Spirit Tracks (DS, Wii U) – 2009
The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword (Wii, Wii U) – 2011
The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds (3DS) – 2013
The Legend of Zelda: Tri Force Heroes (3DS) – 2015
The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild (Wii U, Switch) – 2017
The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild Sequel (Switch) – TBA
Have you ever played any of the Legend of Zelda games? What were your favorite ones? What were your least favorite ones?
I was always personally a huge fan of Ocarina of Time and Majora's Mask. Those two games for the Nintendo 64 were extremely powerful and way before their time. The graphics, puzzles, music and concepts still put tons of more recent games to shame. I guess that is why those games keep getting remastered for newer consoles. They were so story heavy that they made you feel like you were part of their story instead of just trying to weed through small tasks. There aren't many games that can do that. I know both games inside and out and have fully completed them several times, and I just can't get enough
