These Nights in Cairo is an otome visual novel with a focus on romance. You play as a woman and can choose from three men to romance, have a fling with one woman, or romance no one at all. There are several choices throughout the game and depending on what you choose, the outcome for your PC (player character) can change.

Review:
1) The Player Character:
The PC is pretty decent. She's not too naive, doesn't make a ton of stupid mistakes and doesn't get herself into trouble by trying to prove she doesn't need anybody else - she's strong on her own without needing to say it but recognizes when she needs help. Also the situation with her arranged marriage and a father who doesn't value her as a person, does a lot to endear her towards the player.

2) The Romance Options:
The main romance options are Amin - a mysterious native, Duncan - a crass "archaeologist", and Ramessu - an otherworldly being. You can also have a brief fling with a desert-dwelling priestess named Sotis. Each romance option (except for Sotis) has good and bad endings, and there are good/bad endings while staying single as well. Amin's romance was a little slow going but then suddenly they were kissing and declaring their love for one another. Duncan's romance was better paced but again, it was instant love after only knowing each other for a few days. Ramessu's romance was well done for starting pretty late into the story and I loved that Ramessu's romance acknowledged his villainous actions. They didn't try to justify Ramessu's actions or turn him into someone who was misunderstood, and the PC was conflicted throughout the story about whether or not falling for Ramessu was a good idea (and even when she decided it wasn't, she couldn't help herself).

3) Erotic Scenes:
The scenes didn't immediately fade to black which was nice but there's only a little more detail than usual, nothing too explicit. They were okay.

3) Technical Aspects:
The game has the usual quality of life mechanics that make playing visual novels easier. You can skip, skip read text (though be careful because my game had it set to skip ALL text as default), save easily with multiple save slots, etc. The art style was pretty nice though some of the CGs looked a bit awkward with how the bodies were drawn. The translation wasn't the worst but was pretty bad. Lots of grammatical errors and clumsily translated text.

Would you recommend this to other users? The choices are a little lackluster, the pacing in some of the romance routes could use a little work, and the bad translation drags the game down a bit but if those sound like things you can overlook, then I'd recommend it as an okay otome game.
