EA Play in July will have many surprises for fans of the gaming giant. And now we have learned that they will announce a new game that will revive a classic intellectual property.
Previously, this was just the stuff of rumors regarding Star Wars Squadrons developer EA Motive. But after GamesBeat’s Jeff Grubbs teases about this, the whole thing feels a lot more real. “We’ll see … if we’re not dead first,” he jokes in the video below.
Additionally, other gaming reporters (including those from Eurogamer and Video Games Chronicle) have confirmed that they have heard the same rumors.
But which classic IP will we get? Grubbs seems to imply that Dead Space may be a fan favorite. But we don’t know much beyond an October 2020 blog post from EA Motive CEO Patrick Klaus.
According to Klaus, the overall goal is “to allow players to create, experiment, experience and share their own unique stories”. And they want to focus on “ambitious games that push the boundaries of what players expect now and into the future.”
Honestly, it doesn’t sound much like Dead Space, but we’re ready to be surprised. Be sure to let us know which IP you want returned in the comments!
