The original iQOO Neo7 arrived in October with a Dimensity 9000+, it was followed by the Neo7 SE with a Dimensity 8200, now comes the Racing Edition with a Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1. Apart from the chipset and the price, this is not too different from the original Neo7.
The iQOO Neo7 Racing Edition pairs the 8+ Gen 1 chipset with 8GB RAM and 256GB storage for CNY 2,800 ($400 / €380 / ₹33,000). There’s also a 12/256GB version for CNY 3,000, 16/256GB for CNY 3,300, and a full 16/512GB version for CNY 3,600.

The 6.78-inch display is an FHD+ (20:9) panel with HDR10+ support and a 120Hz refresh rate. It’s a flat display with no mention of toughened glass. Up top is a 16MP selfie camera.

The rear camera setup features a 50MP main sensor (ISOCELL GN5 replaces the IMX766V), an 8MP ultra-wide-angle camera, and a 2MP macro camera. The main module has OIS, this is essentially the same setup as the Neo7 (the SE version trimmed the ultra wide and used a smaller main sensor).
Next, the battery. It’s the same 5,000mAh two-cell setup as before with support for vivo’s 120W fast charging (wired only).

120W fast charge: 1-50% in 8 minutes with screen off, 10-50% in 10 minutes with screen on
While not strictly speaking a gaming phone, the iQOO Neo7 Racing edition definitely has what you need. The fast Qualcomm GPU is aided by an additional chip capable of squeezing new frames with minimal additional power consumption. There are also two linear motors on the X axis for better tactile feedback. And a giant steam chamber to boot.

The best cooling system ever seen on any iQOO Neo phone
The phone lacks the, shall we say, “signature” look of gaming phones and is actually quite understated for a “racing edition”. You can pre-order it in orange, blue or black starting today, with the first units shipping to China on January 5. The phone runs on Android 13 with OriginOS 3.0.

Colorways of the iQOO Neo7 Racing Edition
Though it should upgrade to FuntouchOS 13 for the global version. Not that we’ve heard of a global release. iQOO India is still only selling the Neo6, for example, no sign of either Neo7 model that was unveiled months ago. By the way, the Neo7 with Dimension 9000+ and 8/256GB of memory costs the same as the 8+ Gen 1 model (CNY 2,800), although there is also a slightly cheaper 8/128GB version.
