Technology and social networks have given us a completely new world, especially if you compare it to the one of thirty or forty years ago. A socialization 2.0 which, however, is not 100% secure, given that the privacy and security alarm is always active and the controls are insistent and rigid.

It’s no longer news creating an account. Any person owns one on one or more platforms. Just think of the creation of a personal email, or the registration of any social network. It is now a consolidated practice and considered routine, also because a few elements are enough and they are always the same: username and password, and that’s it.
Precisely because it is very simple to create profiles, you are never sure who is behind an account. From here it was decided for one close on social media so much so that there have been very many accounts deleted suddenly. A decision taken at the government level and which made headlines around the world.
Accounts deleted on social media, the security squeeze arrives
To take the initiative on the deletion of accounts was the government of Vietnam one of the most restrictive countries when it comes to digitization. The Asian nation, in fact, occupies the 178th position, out of 180 countries, in the World Press Freedom 2023 ranking, surpassing only the dictatorships North Korea and China.
The local administration has decided to tighten up on security, so much so that users will have to verify your identity. According to what has emerged, the goal of the Vietnamese country is to crack down on online scams. In this way, the governors want prevent the use of anonymous profiles for the purpose of breaking the law.
All unverified accounts on social platforms will have to comply with the new provisions. The regulations will come into force at the end of 2023. Vietnamese authorities are already monitoring and blocking anonymous social media profiles.
Last year, among other things, several social platforms had to eliminate fake news within 24 hours, since previously the squeeze was within 48 hours. Also, also in 2022, several regulations were passed to require companies like Facebook to store user data locally.
Therefore, this is a new pressure on social platforms and users. However, not everyone agrees with this decision, given that some are even questioning the right to freedom of expression, as reported by the BBC. What is certain is that it is important to protect your account and accounts.
